A SPECTACULAR gem example of this low mintage late date Seated half. Rich toning in shades of blue, red, and gold form a beautiful halo around untoned centers, the reverse fields are essentially fully prooflike. Highly reflective luster adds to the wonderful eye appeal of this crisply struck superb coin! PCGS 19, NGC 15, CAC 5. This is the ONLY PCGS MS66+ graded and only eight coins are graded higher. Only 4,400 half dollars were struck for circulation in 1884, as most silver was being turned into Morgan dollars. A wonderful type coin or addition to an amazing set of Seated halves. The most recent MS66 PCGS/CAC realized $6,364 in April 2016. A PCGS/CAC MS67 sold for $13,513 in April 2015. In 66+, PCGS estimates a value of $9,000.
