- BOLIVIA. Cob 4 Reales, 1650-P. Potosi Mint; Assayer Juan Rodriguez de Rodas (O). Philip IV. PCGS VF-25. KM-17B; Cal-1106; Sellschopp-534 (plate coin). Weight: 12.39 gms. An impressive Bolivian Cob despite its areas of flatness. The obverse shows the denomination, assayer's mark, and "HILLIP", a portion of the monarch's name, on the outer legend. The reverse, most fortuitously, shows all four numerals of the date. On a broad planchet and boasting a deep cabinet tone, this coin is a wonderful survivor. Quite RAREin this condition with no countermark and a Sellschopp plate coin to boot, this piece is sure to draw competitive bidding from advanced collectors. Estimate: $300 - $500.
