Since the Walking Liberty half dollar series is so long and has so many tough coins, the approach Ron Stone used was very appropriate. He has one of each coin, all PCGS graded MS63. This allowed him to complete the set and have clean uncirculated specimens of each date and mintmark. This is a perfect example of a great set that can be put together thoughtfully and with a conscious eye on the budget.
