While again no gold or silver dollars were coined in 1919, most of the mintmarked issues are tough coins. The '19-D Half in particular is a serious rarity with only a dozen pieces graded above MS-64. Nearly all of these went into circulation, as only about 27 million Halves were struck at all mints during the entire decade from 1919 through 1929.
