关于此套币: The Bahá’í Faith began in 1844 , on the evening of May 22 and extending through the early morning hours of May 23, with the declaration by a 25-year old young man in Shiraz, Persia of God's latest guidance for humanity, including the imminent appearance of another Messenger even greater than Himself. His Ministry lasted a short six years - He was publicly executed in the city of Tabriz on 9 July 1850.

He was known by the title "the Báb", meaning “the Gate”, and His most important message was telling of the Promised One whose appearance in near future would be that "return" which every major world religion is expecting: the tenth Avatar and return of Krishna for Hindus; the fifth Buddha for Buddhists, the Buddha of universal fellowship; the advent of “Sháh-Bahrám”, the promised savior of the Zoroastrians; for Jews the Lord of Hosts; for Christians the Return of Christ in the Glory of the Father; and for Muslims "the Great Announcement", specifically for Shi'ah Islám the return of the 12th Imám, and for Sunnis the descent of the "Spirit of God" (Jesus Christ).

Bahá’ís consider the Báb to be both an independent Messenger of God and the Prophet-Herald of Bahá’u’lláh (meaning “the Glory of God”), who in 1863 declared He was the One promised and foretold by the Báb and all the world's major faiths, "He Whom God shall make manifest", the "Desire of all nations", the "King of Glory", and Who would bring "peace on earth, goodwill towards all".

Thus begins the process toward the Golden Age of peace and unity among the entire human family, as foretold, indeed, in every faith.

"O peoples of the earth, give ear unto God's holy Voice. Verily, the resplendent Light of God hath appeared in your midst, invested with this unerring Book, that ye may be guided aright to the ways of peace."

The Báb’s teachings, which spread rapidly, were viewed as heretical by the clergy and government of Persia. More than 20,000 of His followers were killed in a series of massacres throughout the country in the mid-19th century. These persecutions have continued to the present day, instigated now against Bahá’ís by post-1979 revolution Iranian authorities. The United Nations has passed numerous resolutions condemning human rights violations against Bahá’ís in Iran.
