1824 Mint Set with Gold

The four-piece Mint Set for 1824 contains mostly scarcer dates in their respective series, but is by no means close to the excessive difficulty of the previous year's set. The Cent, Dime and Quarter all command prices well above the "type" price in medium and higher grades, but unless one is seeking exclusively Mint State coins, all can be located without too much difficulty. All gold coins from this period are rare, having nearly all the original mintage melted shortly after striking. The 1824 Quarter and Half Eagle are both of about average rarity for the issues, which is to say, they will be both challenging to find and expensive to acquire once they are located.
