Very nice coin, very limited in coming up for sale anywhere at all. Bright white coin, with some light toning, many die polish marks all over the coin. Not the lowest population, but VERY hard to locate at this high grade! Great Collections 22 Sep 24.
Plate coin for the 1967 Kennedy date in the PCGS Coinfacts website. Bought from GC on 31 March 2024 as an MS 67, thought it looked better. Resubmitted it in November 2024 under thew EXPRESS submission which is SUPPOSED to take only 15 business days to process. It took 85 business days before I received this coin and 3 other coins to return back to me!!! It DID get the upgrade to the grade of MS 67+!!! This was the first time trying for the upgrade.

Plate coin for PCGS Coin facts website. Great Collections 27 Oct 24. This coin is actually the VERY much rarer DDO FS-101!!! The Coin facts report for the 1968-D shows the following Pop's and prices: Grade: 62 63 64 65 66 Pop : 4 5 14 5 3 Value : $100 $125 $300 $550 That makes this coin UNIQUE in this Date/Grade/Variety!

Very nice coin, rivals some of the 67's and better than most other 66's, Deserves another re-submission for another opinion, at least in my opinion!
PLATE coin in Coinfacts. VERY PQ coin, nearly mark free obverse, mark free reverse. It's been a VERY long time since one of these coins was offered for sale in this high grade. Pretty pastel toning on both sides makes this coin even more desirable whether the collector likes bright white coins or toned coins. I have researched all of the present and retired Kennedy sets and I only found a single set that had this coin in the MS 67 grade. Is it that rare, or have people resubmitted the other MS 67 coins in hopes that they could get an upgrade? Or, did they break them out of the holder and resubmit them raw in hopes of an upgrade? Only PCGS may know? I for one DO have the real deal, a TRUE MS 67 1971-P Kennedy half dollar! This coin is the plate coin for the 1971-P Kennedy in Coinfacts!
Nicely toned on obverse and reverse, over the years many coins have been graded as MS 67 and some as MS 67+. But as of today, there are only 10 graded as MS 68. VERY few marks, deeply struck and pretty toning made this a worthy coin to purchase, not only as a slot filler, but as a slot for any high grade Kennedy set.

Plate coin for the 1974-P Kennedy in the PCGS Coin Facts website. VERY nice coin and a welcome new member to this set. This coin WAS certification number: 44838354, and this coin shows up as that number, it's actually the very first coin shown in the MS 67 grade, just after the MS 67+ graded coins are shown. It's also the first coin for the date, also called the "plate coin" for that date. Stacks and Bowers December 2024 auction.

Richard told me he thought it would grade MS 68 one day, just have faith! Since I only paid $3 for it plus 1 round of grading fees I thought it did well. Broke the bank when PCGS gave away 4 free submissions for people to try the "new" PLUS (+) grading. All I had to pay was the shipping/handling fees, so out it went. They didn't have the plus grades back then, but I know Richard would still be proud as a POP 1 MS 67+ even though it didn't make the MS 68 he thought it deserved! Too bad Richard couldn’t see it now. RIP.

Plate coin on the PCGS Coinfacts website. In the coin auction catalog, it was listed as a regular 1982-P, photo showed it's the error coin, no "FG" graded as a MS 66+, coin looked much better than an MS 66+. Upon resubmission and it was upgraded to an MS 67 no "FG" coin. Heritage auction 14 May 2024, happy belated birthday to me! This coin in the original MS 66+ holder HAD a QA sticker on the holder indicating the coin was considered as a superior coin for the grade. But upon submission it was removed by PCGS. By the coin, NOT the holder! It's going back for restoration to remove the patterned " marks" on it. Who knows, maybe if they can remove those pesky little buggers, it might be better than my other 1982-P in MS 67, it's also a no "FG" coin but not attributed on the holder.
Beautiful bright white coin, as nice as the 68's on PCGS Coin Facts! Another PCGS restoration success story coin. I bought this coin many years ago with a haze and was discolored . So I submitted it to PCGS an an MS 67 coin. After they waved their magic wand, the haze and discolorization was gone. After this was completed, the coin was raised from an MS 67 to a MS 67+. The coin is now a pop 9 valued at $275, the next highest is MS 68 with a POP of 8 valued at $4250.

First 03-D MS 68 graded! Sorry Richard, I’m keeping this one. This is how I met Richard Green. When he found out that I had made this coin he tried to buy it because it was a pop 1 coin. When I didn’t sell it to him, he bought two PCGS graded 2003-D Kennedy’s in both ms 68 and ms 67. When he got them he thought the ms 67 coin was just as good as the ms 68 coin, he resubmitted it to PCGS. He was rewarded with his second ms 68 coin. He sold this spare coin and that was the last of the 2003 D Kennedy’s that was graded as ms 68. Since then he and I bought/sold/traded about 100 Kennedy half dollars. Richard was not a fan of toned Kennedy’s and this is why he sold me his “ spare “ 1964-D Kennedy in ms 67 along with a few other toned Kennedys. Plus he didn't want the varieties, so he basically GAVE me all the varieties he had, some graded and some raw! He gifted me the toned 1988 D in PCGS ms 67 that’s in my current set. One of these days I hope to develop the skills/knowledge to take a photo of each coin that actually captures the true colors and appearance of the coin.

Beautiful bright white coin. Even though the more modern Kennedy are being minted in huge numbers, to find one in a high grade is extremely difficult and expensive.

Very nice DEEP cameo coin. They are very hard to find Deep Cameo coins as the only way they become Deep Cameo in appearance, the dies must be freshly cleaned and acid washed and ONLY the very first few coins will exhibit this deep enough strike to merit the DCAM designation. Even coins made during the early 70's didn't always make DCAM or even cam designations. I have 3 1971-S PR 68 DCAM coins and they are very far behind this level of quality and finish. This coin and my 1971-s CLAD PR 69 DCAM coin are about the same quality, but, the cameo is much brighter because it's on a 90% silver coin instead of a clad composition. This is a VERY beautiful example of this top graded first year, 90% silver composition coin. It's a beauty to behold in your hand!!! Heritage 2002.

Purchase1ad this and 6 other PR 69 DCAM coins as a single lot. I didn't see this until about half an hour before the end of the auction ended! Got lucky for sure! The photo makes it look like there's a haziness on the bottom of the photo, but, this is a faulty photo. There is absolutely NO haze anywhere on the coin at all! Beautiful black and white coin. I've been looking for one for a long time. I have now got 4 in 68 DCAM, but this coin has ended my search!

Coin was initially placed in a PCGS clad holder. I contacted them and they stated that they would correct it for free. They provided the shipping label, etc. All I had to do was provide the padded envelope and they did everything else, Finally on 10 December 2024, I received an email from them stating that my coin was re-slabbed and photographed and was ready to add to my set. It should be on it's way back home in a short while. It was deemed a mechanical error. PCGS stepped up and did the right thing.
