For the 1915 Panama Pacific Exposition held in San Francisco, the mint pulled out all the stops, issuing an unprecedented five different commemorative coins. For a commemorative, the silver half dollar is fairly scarce in gem condition. The gold dollar and quarter eagle are available but the other two gold gold coins, a pair of magnificently designed $50s will put a dent in the wallets of all but a few of us. There are a few complete collections on the Registry, but acquiring the pair of $50s will limit this set to those of us with substantial disposable income.
