A difficult Time in Spain's History translates to a challenging set of coins of the era

关于此套币: Most registry set aficionados who collect Spanish coins are well aware of the difficulty of putting this set together... First, striking characteristics for many of the coins in this set are weak to worse. Remember there were a lot of things going on in Spain in this time frame! Money to strike coins and attention to detail were both lacking. I would venture that most who attempt this particular set will not finish it, and will lack at least 1 coin? The coin in question is the 1938 Ten Centimos coin struck in Steel. The reported mintage is a mere 1000 pieces which is to say, almost impossible to find! What the world coin catalogues do not tell you is the 1000 coins struck were not released, but destroyed!! A mere few most likely survive... Over the years, I have viewed dozens of counterfeit coins; some laughable in their attempts to make a reasonable copy, and some close to the real thing... I know of 1 coin which is real, but the owner has declined selling it at this time... (update 10 Sept 2024) Visited my friend in Spain who above told me he had a genuine 1938 10 Centimos... Up until now, he has never shown the coin to me, and as it turns out, both of his coins were fakes! PCGS as of Oct 2024 has not certified a single 1938 10 Centimos!!! The 1938 Ten Centimos is a real Spanish rarity which most collectors are not aware of! This would be the junk box find of your life if found!!!
