The 2014-W $50 Proof Gold Buffalo was officially released by the U.S. Mint on May 8, 2014. The Mint issue price was originally set at $1,640. for each coin. The obverse and reverse of the coin have remained the same since the introduction of the Gold Buffalo coin program in 2006. 

Most 2014-W $50 Proof Golf Buffaloes were struck in great quality ranging from about PR68-PR69 Deep Cameo condition. PR70 Deep Cameo examples are obtainable with minimal effort for a small premium over PR69 Deep Cameo examples.
