A very nice strike and wonderful toning make this coin a treat to own. Liberty's cheek has a green irridesence beaming out to light gold and then darkening at the rims. The reverse has great detail and toning consistent with the obverse. Total PCGS AU population is 40 with 9 in AU 55 and 25 in AU 58. The BCCS rating is R1.

In 1908, production of Dimes at the Philadelphia Mint dropped nearly in half from the previous year, yet the mintage still remained over 10 million coins.  Thus, the 1908 Dime is not the cheapest coin in the series, but it remains very affordable in most grades.  Hundreds of Mint State examples exist, mostly in MS63 and MS64, with ample quantities in Gem and better conditions.  The PCGS CoinFacts Condition Census consists entirely of MS66+ and better coins, topped off with a couple of MS67's.  The 1908 Dime is almost always well-struck.  Luster ranges from brilliant to soft and creamy.
