In 1901, Joseph Lesher issued Referendum Dollars, primarily as advertising media for various merchants. Boyd Park was a jeweler in Denver, Colorado and his name was punched into the blank area at the base of the obverse of the so-called Imprint Dollars. Each piece was serially numbered, presumably for tracking purposes in case they were sumbitted to Lesher for redemption. Approximately sixty different Park pieces are known within a serial number range of 502 to 648, suggesting an original "mintage" of one hundred and fifty pieces. Of the sixty known pieces, approximately fifteen are unnumbered.
