Bought at Great Collections. This is the Far 7 Variety but was not noted on the auction lot nor was it certified as such. Most likely not certified as such even though the variety has been in the Charlton Guide Book for decades, PCGS just started acknowledging this variety in May of 2025. In hand the obverse has stunning smooth Red surfaces save for the hint of toning in the lower portions. The picture appears much darker than the actual coin. Most interesting is this PCGS holder has the bar code on the front AND back of the holder!! This must have been certified just as they transitioned from the Reverse to Obverse bar codes? Just checked the PCGS web page and this is the 4.4S Generation that was utilized from March 2010 thru Dec 2011. Gold Shield holders were inaugurated in this same time frame, so one of the first holders to include a photo!
