The 1864 Bronze Cent in Proof is a relatively scarce coin, especially in full Red color and/or with nice eye appeal. The reported mintage of 150+ coins is uncertain and it is undoubtedly low based on the simple fact that PCGS alone has certified 146 examples as of April 2011. The PCGS Opo Report shows that this metal variant is twice as rare as the Copper-Nickel version, but nowhere near as rare as the 1864-L Proof.  PCGS reports the higest percentage of Proofs in the Red-Brown category, mostly in the PR64RB category. Cameo Proofs are very scarce and represent less than 10% of the Proofs examined by PCGS.  No Deep Cameo Proofs have been reported.  The finest examples certified by PCGS include a single PR67RB and a single PR67RD.
