In terms of the number of coins certified at PCGS, the 1807 Bust Left Half Eagle is the third most common of the type (after the 1813 and the combined 1810's).  With such a large population, Mint State examples are plentiful -- mostly in the MS62 to MS63 range.  MS65 and better examples are extremely rare, but this is where the 1807 shines.  It is the only date in the entire series with examples at BOTH the MS67 and MS67+ levels.  Not surprisingly, both of those superb coins came out of the D. Brent Pogue Collection.

The entire mintage of the 1807 Bust Left Half Eagle is comprised of only two different die varieties: BD-7, which is very rare, and BD-8, which is common.

David Akers (1975/88)

Although popular as a type coin, the 1807 Half Eagle designed by John Reich is relatively common and is seen rather frequently in choice uncirculated condition. Most specimens are very sharply struck. Along with the 1809/8, 1810 Large Date, Large 5, and 1812, this is the most common date of the type.
