The Becoka Collection

关于此套币: This is a subset of a much larger Classic Head variety set. I am attempting to complete the 34 known varieties attributed by John McCloskey and any new ones found since. To see how the complete set is going click on Becoka's Sets at the top right of the screen and then choose the link under showcases. The 1834 Crosslet is a really tough coin to find. The example I have is one that many might call ugly. It is a solid example with AU58 details marked down by the gouges on the cheek and a few luster breaks in the fields. It was worth every penny as I like the character the flaws add. The 1838-C is one of the most originally crusted coins I have seen. It has a nice thick dark brown toning that has vertical depth. It's like looking through some tinted glass to see the actual coin. The 1838-D is a wonderful original example with warm copper toning. There are a couple of thin razor cuts that are only detracting at certain angles.
