After World War II (and a hiatus of 11 years), the newly formed West German government began minting Copper-Nickel 1 Marks. Eventually, this turned into one of the longest, uninterrupted series of German coins, exceeding even the Empire 1 Mark series (which only ran from 1873 to 1916). Despite its length, this is an easy series to complete, but many of the early years are hard to find in full, Uncirculated condition.
