03. Bavaria (Kingdom) Regent Luitpold's 90th birthday commemorative." This type was struck 1911 only but enough were saved that today it is only moderately scarce. It is accompanied by two and three mark pieces. King Otto's brother, Ludwig II, was deposed in 1886 and died a week later under very suspicious circumstances. Otto was also insane and was placed under Prince Luitpold's regency which lasted until his death in 1913. Recorded mintage: 160,000 plus proofs. Specification: 27.77 g, .900 fine silver.
