1873 T$1 Chop Mark XF40 PCGS #87031

Type 1/1. Ex-WTL. A distant third in rarity in the chopmarked date set behind the 1875-P and the 1878-CC. One partial chopmark on the reverse. Broken 'E' in 'UNITED'.

1873-CC T$1 Chop Mark AU55 PCGS #87032

Type 1/1, close cc. Ex-Legend. A frosty mint luster still survives in the fields of this first year of issue CC Trade dollar. It has a single Chinese character chop above Liberty's knee and two on the reverse (one Chinese character on the eagle's left wing and a deep square punch in front of TRADE).

1873-S T$1 Chop Mark AU58 PCGS #87033

1874-CC T$1 Chop Mark MS64 PCGS #87035

Type 1/1, Medium CC, dot on the 8. Some people think that a Mint State Trade dollar with a chop mark is an impossibility, but here it is, and this piece is a beauty. A single chop mark is noted on Liberty's shoulder, upper arm, and neck. This Choice Mint State example has brilliant and frosty silver luster that shines through dappled gold toning.

1875-CC T$1 Chop Mark MS62 PCGS #87038

Type 1/1, Tall, close CC. Breen-5796. This coin has very pleasant toning, with a little bit of varied color on the reverse! Ex-BlackHawk, Ex-Andy Geosits.

1875-S/CC T$1 FS-501 OMM Chopmarked MS62 PCGS #518792

Type 1/1, Large S, FS-501, Breen-5792. Scarce, but the more common of the two overdates. There is a rumor of a 3rd, but as of yet unconfirmed. This coin still has some mint luster, clearly authentic chinese origin chops, and the chopmarks do not obscure the over-mint-mark. It also has very limited chop mark related marks on the front (caused by a hard pressed chop on the back). The obverse is quite beautiful!

1878-CC T$1 Chop Mark AU55 PCGS #87047

Type 2/2, Misplaced CC. Ex-Northwest Collection. The mintmark is misplaced, extremely far to the right over DO of Dollar. Extremely rare, estimated less than a dozen survive. Only 97,000 were minted and half of those were melted at the mint. Net mintage of 52,852 after melting. Those that remained, almost all circulated locally.

1878-S T$1 Chop Mark MS61 PCGS #87048

Type 2/2, Ex-WTL. Hard to find in uncirculated grade. This coin has a bit of chatter, but is a very nice example for the grade.
