His genuine love for family, friends, and fellow soldiers paralleled Godly principles resting in the love for humanity. Despite always in a position of power and influence, he never dismissed the welfare of others. All about action and not just lofty ideals or rhetoric, he signed civil rights legislation and used Federal troops to enforce desegregation, stating, "We have not taken and we shall not take a single backward step. There must be no second class citizens in this country." Salute!...I Like Ike!
