1926 Mint Set with Gold

Like most of the 1920s Mint Sets, the 1926 boasts some rarities in high grade for the mintmarked issues. In particular, the 1926-S Nickel in top grade is extremely tough. The San Francisco cent, in top grade Red condition is nearly impossible, and the "S" Mint Dime and Quarter are also challenges above MS-65. Five coins are added to the 1926 Mint Set when the gold is included; and the 1926-D $20 will prove to be the key to completing this set. Most of the other "S" mint minor coins will also provide a challenge in grades above MS-65, so assembling a top quality set won't be easy by any means.
