CAC from ESM Collection w/ pedigree as the Clapp-Eliasberg (and others) Specimen. Die Variety: Cohen-9, Breen-9, Gilbert-1. Rarity-2. High-Relief Head; Head Right, Large Head. Die State: Manley 3.0. Obv: Die cracks are evident from the border near 9:30, through the liberty cap and into the hair, as well as through the top of the letters IBERTY in LIBERTY. Light clash marks in the right field extend from Liberty's nose to chin. Rev: A border beak just past 6 o'clock obscures four or five denticles left of the digit 2 in the fraction. This is a scarce die state, and the latest known to Manley.
Provenance: Ex Henry Chapman's sale of the W.B. Guy Collection, November 1911, lot 909; James A. Stack, Sr. Collection, November 1989, lot 32; ESM Collection, March 2020 Auction, lot 3009.
CAC w/ pedigree to ESM Collection. Die Variety: Cohen-2, Breen-2, Gilbert-1. Die State: Manley 2.0, described as "very scarce." Obv: Clash marks are evident behind Liberty's head and around the hair curls above the digits 11 in the date. Rev: Perfect.
CAC w/ pedigree to Walter Breen Collection (1/1/1968), Jon Hanson & Donald G. Partrick Collection (HA: 4/2021) as NGC-65. Hints of greenish-gold on the reflective light brown surfaces with considerable Mint Red in the protected areas. C-1, B-4, R.2 w/ EAC grade MS60.
CAC and + graded. One of 2 66+ coins (other is RD) w/ none higher. Beautiful orange & blue (in homage to my Florida Gators) toning w/ some green accents. Probably a 67 if RD, but PCGS doesn't want the poptop coin of the key date to be BN.
CAC in OGH-Rattler. Double Die Variety. Very clean, reddish-brown surfaces w/ sharp strike.
