Stunning coin in hand, looks like an SMS, if it was a 1967 PCGS would have graded it as an SMS, IMO. Found in a mint set.

Super duper PQ for the grade. It has two tics front and back.
this is a FS technically but PCGS won't give it the bump due to being very tough now.

How this coin is not a 67 is beyond me. Simply a great coin finest of the 30+ I made.

CAC - Legend coin. Simply a great coin. Probably an assay office coin. Technically an MS66+ but was probably dipped at one point, so it grades an MS64+, no matter the only higher coin is an MS67, this is clearly the second finest known coin.
Crossed from an NGC MS65 CAC. This coin is also a PCGS CAC. It is muted but has great surface preservation, that of a higher coin, but the grime on it holds it back.

CAC Green label. Super nice for an AU53, not baggy in any way shape or form. Good mint luster in protected areas. Grade is accurate but the green bean shows how not baggy the coin is.
CAC Green NGC coin from Heritage. Crossed to PCGS in Jan 2023 and got the CAC back but no upgrade. "1868 $20 MS62 NGC. CAC. The high-end nature of this Uncirculated 1868 double eagle is readily apparent, even without the shimmering green CAC approval sticker. Luminous yellow-gold surfaces awash in vibrant mint luster show little more than trivial hairlines and a few scattered ticks. On the reverse, interesting dentil clash marks appear in an arc below the eagle's tailfeathers. Every facet of the Type Two design is fully rendered. Eye appeal and technical quality are nearly unsurpassed, with only the single PCGS-graded MS63 example graded finer."
