Wrongly attributed. Is actually a 1951 London Mint PL Penny with missing PL. No serif on 5, different alignment of P and Y in PENNY and square rims.
Scarce variety. Obverse die 1 with reverse die A. Dot in field between chin and V, dot in field between neck and X. Clear cuds on "E" of ONE, and "Y" of PENNY.
Narrow date with lower 7. Top of 7 is much lower than the 5 and has a thinner upstroke. The dot after Y is centrally between large denticles. Occurrence approx. 1 in 10
