Add the 1920-D in MS65. A sleeper, tough to find Walker in gem state. Some minor obverse toning around the edges. Ex-Dakota collection. No CAC but purchased for $10K under PGCS book so happy with purchase.
Tough one - the 1921 slot. MS 65 graded PCGS is a $30000 plus purchase so I ‘won’ a NGC MS 65 and tried to cross. Unfortunately it graded MS 64+ at PCGS. Like the coin, of course I’m not happy with the result.
Add to the set with the 1917-S obverse mint mark. Nice and white, graded MS-64 with CAC. Just couldnt justify moving up to MS-65 with this coin - too expensive.
Added the 1934-S in MS 66 with CAC. The fields are near proof like, very clean looking and high end Walker. On par or better than most rated MS 66+ and I may try re-submitting to PCGS for a MS 66+ grading. This completes my Walker date set where I am rated #3 in the standings.
Filled the 1928-S slot last week with a brilliant MS 65, no CAC. Personally I consider it a beautiful coin, the strike is weak on Liberty’s hand, which is standard for this date. Ran across this coin at a new auction house, they had a great selection of hard to get Walkers.
I picked up one of the 'harder' dates last week - a 1921-D in MS64+ with CAC sticker. Usually these sell at quite a premium to book at auction and I am reluctant to go that high on a coin. But it was the weekend after Harvey went through Houston and Irma was approaching Florida - so many of the usual buyers had more important matters at hand and my bid went through.
This collection is nearing the point where the 'easy' coins have been acquired and what is left are the harder to find, more expensive examples which represent major purchases. So I expect the pace of new purchases to slow down considerably.

New purchase from recent Stack Bowers auction, the 1917-S reverse mint mark in MS 65 with CAC.
Bright white and nice luster. Strike a bit weak on liberty’s head and thumb.
